Deposit Account Agreement

Comprehensive Terms & Conditions for Banking Relationships

Important Notice

This agreement constitutes a legally binding contract between you and Digital Chain Bank. Please read this document carefully as it governs your banking relationship with us. By maintaining an account with us, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.

1. Account Opening and Ownership

By opening a deposit account with Digital Chain Bank, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this agreement. This agreement governs all deposit accounts including checking accounts, savings accounts, money market accounts, and certificates of deposit.

1.1 Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be of legal age to open an individual account
  • Valid government-issued photo identification required
  • Tax identification number required
  • Minimum opening deposit as specified in current rate sheet

1.2 Account Ownership Types

We offer the following account ownership types:

  • Individual Account: Owned by one person
  • Joint Account: Owned by two or more people with equal rights
  • Trust Account: Held in trust for a beneficiary
  • Business Account: Owned by a business entity

2. Account Access and Security

You may access your account through various channels including online banking, mobile banking, ATMs, telephone banking, and in-person at our branches.

2.1 Online and Mobile Banking

  • Secure login credentials are required
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Services may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance

2.2 ATM and Debit Card Access

  • PIN required for ATM transactions
  • Daily withdrawal limits apply
  • Report lost or stolen cards immediately
  • Fees may apply for out-of-network ATM usage

3. Interest and Fees

Interest rates and fees are subject to change at our discretion. Current rates and fees are available on our website and at all branch locations.

3.1 Interest Calculation

  • Interest is calculated using the daily balance method
  • Interest is compounded and credited monthly
  • Minimum balance requirements may apply
  • Interest rates are variable and may change without notice

3.2 Common Fees

  • Monthly maintenance fees (may be waived with minimum balance)
  • Overdraft fees
  • ATM fees for out-of-network usage
  • Wire transfer fees
  • Stop payment fees
  • Account closure fees (if closed within 90 days)

4. Deposits and Withdrawals

We accept deposits in various forms and have established policies for fund availability and withdrawal limits.

4.1 Deposit Types

  • Cash deposits
  • Check deposits
  • Electronic deposits
  • Mobile check deposits

4.2 Fund Availability

  • Cash deposits are available immediately
  • Electronic deposits are typically available next business day
  • Check deposits may have holds based on amount and source
  • Large deposits may require extended hold periods

5. Overdrafts and Insufficient Funds

We offer overdraft protection services to help you avoid declined transactions and fees.

5.1 Overdraft Coverage Options

  • Standard Coverage: Covers checks and automatic payments
  • Extended Coverage: Opt-in required for ATM and debit card transactions
  • Overdraft Transfer: Automatic transfer from linked savings account
  • Credit Line: Subject to approval

6. Account Statements and Notices

We provide regular account statements and important notices regarding your account.

6.1 Statement Delivery

  • Monthly statements for accounts with activity
  • Quarterly statements for inactive accounts
  • Electronic statements available through online banking
  • Paper statements available upon request (fees may apply)

7. Account Closure

Either party may close the account at any time with proper notice and settlement of obligations.

7.1 Voluntary Closure

  • You may close your account at any time
  • All outstanding obligations must be satisfied
  • Remaining balance will be provided by check or transfer
  • Early closure fees may apply

8. Digital Banking Services

Our digital banking platform provides secure, 24/7 access to your accounts through state-of-the-art technology.

8.1 Security Protocols

  • Multi-factor authentication required for all digital access
  • End-to-end encryption for all transactions
  • Real-time fraud monitoring and alerts
  • Biometric authentication options available

9. Regulatory Compliance

Your account is subject to various banking regulations and compliance requirements, including but not limited to:

  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations
  • Know Your Customer (KYC) Requirements
  • Banking Reserve Requirements
  • Electronic Fund Transfer Regulations
